A Summer on Credit

In the afternoon I hang my shadow out to dry on the bamboo chairand go off to haggle with the wind.

Cicada song was too dear; I bought only a few ounces.The change I had left, I spent on clouds.Even when the sky began hurrying the world toward evening,I still refused to give it back.

蝉声太贵,只称了三两;

“If time comes to collect, tell it I pledged my whole life to take this summer on credit.”
